Would and used to. Past Perfect Continuous Tense
Talking about regular events in the past which no longer happen, we can use would and used to.
Used to is used to talk about states and activities and would is used to talk only about activities.
- Sarah used to be a writer. (State)
- We would (or used to) always celebrate together. (Activity)
Past Perfect Continuous is used to talk about longer actions in the past that happened before other past events:
- I had been waiting for the bus for 2 hours when it was announced about delay.
- The boy was rescued by a man who had been working in a nearby shop.
